Frequently asked questions.

What is the legal tint limit in Arkansas?
Front side windows must allow at least 25% of visible light through. Rear side windows and the back glass may be any darkness. Tint is permitted on the top 5 inches of the windshield, and nothing may be more than 25% reflective. We will not install a front window below the legal limit.
How much does automotive tint cost?
3M Obsidian starts at $99.99, Color Stable at $139.99 and Ceramic IR at $174.99. The final figure depends on the vehicle and the number of windows. Call (479) 203-0014 for a fast quote.
How long does a vehicle take?
Most vehicles are completed the same day — typically one to three hours depending on size and window count. Drop off in the morning and we will text you when it is ready.
Why does my tint look hazy or bubbly straight after installation?
That is the mounting solution still evaporating from between the film and the glass. It is normal and it clears on its own. Leave the windows up for three to five days and do not pick at the edges. If anything remains after two weeks, bring it back.
Will tint interfere with my GPS, phone or toll tag?
No. Every 3M film we install is non-metallic, so there is nothing in it to interfere with GPS, cellular, Bluetooth, satellite radio or toll transponders.
Are you really the only 3M Prestige Dealer in Northwest Arkansas?
Yes. It is the highest level of certification 3M offers, covering automotive, residential and commercial work. The practical difference is the warranty, which is backed by 3M directly.
What does the lifetime warranty cover?
Fading, bubbling, cracking, peeling and adhesive failure on Color Stable and Ceramic IR films. Obsidian carries the 3M Limited warranty. Coverage is registered through 3M.
Can you remove old tint that has turned purple?
Yes. Removal is quoted separately, because old failing film with baked-on adhesive takes real time to strip without damaging defroster lines. Mention it when you request your quote so the estimate is accurate.
Do you come to my home or business?
Yes. Free in-home consultations for residential work and free on-site assessments for commercial, anywhere in NWA — Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers, Springdale, Bella Vista, Centerton, Lowell and Siloam Springs.
How do I wash a ceramic-coated or wrapped vehicle?
Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap using two buckets. Avoid brush-style automatic washes, which put swirls into coatings and can lift wrap edges. Touchless automatics are fine. Pressure washers are fine if you keep the nozzle back from seams and edges.
Does window film make my house dark?
It does not have to. 3M Prestige is a nearly clear, non-reflective film that rejects heat without darkening the room or putting a mirror finish on the outside. If you also want privacy, we will show you darker options at the consultation.
Does film work on double-pane windows?
Yes, but the film must be matched to the glass, because some combinations of dark film and insulated glass can create thermal stress. Identifying the glass type is part of the free consultation, and the correct specification is covered by the 3M warranty.
PPF or ceramic coating — which do I need?
PPF is a physical barrier that stops rock chips and impacts. Ceramic is a chemical barrier that stops contaminants and makes washing easier. They solve different problems and they stack.
Will a wrap damage my paint?
Not when it is installed and removed properly from factory paint in good condition. 3M 2080 uses a controlled-tack adhesive designed to release cleanly. Tell us if the vehicle has been resprayed.
Do you work with fleets, dealers and trade accounts?
Yes. See our partnerships page. We work with dealerships, detail shops, property managers and fleet operators across NWA on standing pricing.
