Automotive Window Tinting
What are the window tint laws in Arkansas?
Arkansas law allows 25% VLT on front side windows and any darkness on rear side and back windows. Windshield tint is allowed on the top 5 inches. D&D Sun Control ensures every installation meets state requirements so you drive worry-free.
How much does window tinting cost?
3M Obsidian Series starts at $99.99, Color Stable Series at $139.99, and Ceramic IR Series at $174.99. Exact pricing depends on your vehicle type and number of windows. Call (479) 203-0014 for a free quote.
How long does automotive window tinting take?
Most vehicles are completed in 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the number of windows and vehicle type. Drop off in the morning and pick up the same day.
How long does tint take to cure?
Window tint typically takes 3–5 days to fully cure in warm weather and up to 2–4 weeks in cooler temperatures. During curing, you may notice small water pockets or slight haze — this is normal and will clear. Avoid rolling windows down during this period.
What is the darkest legal tint in Arkansas?
The darkest legal tint for front side windows is 25% VLT. Rear side windows and the back window can be any darkness. D&D Sun Control ensures every installation meets state requirements.
Can you see through 20% tint at night?
Yes, you can see through 20% tint at night, though visibility is reduced compared to lighter tints. 20% VLT provides strong daytime privacy while still allowing reasonable nighttime visibility. Our team can help you compare shade levels in person before you decide.
Will tint interfere with my GPS or phone?
No. Both the 3M Color Stable and Ceramic IR series use non-metallic construction, so they won't interfere with GPS, cell signals, Bluetooth, radio, or toll transponders.
Residential Window Tinting
Does residential window film really reduce energy bills?
Yes. 3M Prestige Series window film blocks up to 60% of solar heat, significantly reducing HVAC workload. Many NWA homeowners see noticeable savings, especially during Arkansas summers.
Will window tint make my home dark inside?
No. Modern 3M residential films, especially the Prestige Series, reject heat while maintaining a clear, natural appearance. Your home stays bright and open.
Can window film protect against storms?
Yes. 3M Safety & Security film holds glass together on impact, providing protection against severe weather, break-in attempts, and accidental breakage — especially important during NWA tornado and hail season.
PPF & Ceramic Coating
Does PPF really heal scratches?
Yes. 3M Scotchgard Pro Series uses self-healing technology. Light scratches disappear when exposed to heat from the sun or warm water.
How long does ceramic coating last?
3M Ceramic Coating provides up to 5 years of durable protection with proper maintenance.
Can I combine PPF and ceramic coating?
Yes — and it's the ultimate protection combo. PPF guards against physical damage while ceramic coating adds a hydrophobic, self-cleaning layer on top.
Vinyl Wraps
How long does a vinyl wrap last?
A properly installed 3M 2080 vinyl wrap typically lasts 5–7 years. The wrap protects your factory paint underneath the entire time and is fully removable.
What is a chrome delete?
A chrome delete covers your vehicle's factory chrome trim with vinyl in a matching or contrasting color — usually gloss or satin black. It creates a clean, modern stealth look without permanent modification.
